Why it happens
Docker Compose could not interpolate the application configuration because required password variables were not provided. The missing values are DOCKER_COMPOSE_APP_ADMIN_PASSWORD and DOCKER_COMPOSE_POSTGRES_PASSWORD, used by the app and PostgreSQL services. The containers were not started.
